'Flower City Blues' Hoodie

from $55.00

‘Flower City Blues’ is a poem that I hold near to my heart in many ways. This piece is symbolic of love and tragedy and is a metaphorical take on what it means to experience loss- wether it be through heartache or violence.

The Flower City Blues hoodie is the second of three official merch items for Wombanhood and a gem to the collection: The garment features the Tahj & Co. logo on the right of the chest and the motto is situated in the center, bordered by roses. In between the lines we trust runs down the left sleeve. The back of the hoodie holds the full poem atop the official Wombanhood emblem. If you love my words, put them on your back.

Available in black or olive.

I never dreamed you’d leave in Summer.

I thought we would ride out all the way.

I thought my soul had finally found another,

But

I’m on this flight alone, and my heart is in

disarray.

And its like:

Ode to my city,

how can I save you?

Ode to my bruddas,

how can I raise you?

Ode to our love,

how can I reclaim you?

how do I redeem us?

You said we’d catch a plane to Venice in the spring.

That is when you clipped my wings and flew away.

I never dreamed you’d leave in summer,

But

now I must be the one to save us,

to my dismay...

They say if you want to hide something,

anything,

from a nigga,

just put it in a book.

My bruddas don’t ever read.

Maybe thats why

through my pen

is the only space

I can breathe...

The city feel the heat creeping,

so its over,

niggas is like vultures.

The streets shall bleed.

Our love could have set them free.

I thought the vision was to help them see

But,

you just left me.

And all I can do

is scrap up the pieces

You was supposed to sail the ship

But

now you gone

and we sinking.

You said then you’d catch me through the fall.

Said I’d be the one that got away.

No,

I never dreamed you’d leave in summer,

But

now I must to be the one to save us,

to my dismay...

Thought

I could never hate you

But

you making me hate your ways

I won’t beg you to stay,

no,

you made things this way...

Why?

couldn’t

you

stay?
