Editor’s Note:

The beginning of a new year is at its core a glimmering promise of “rebirth” and fresh starts- a chance to tread differently with more intent, creativity, and purpose. Winter usually means that everything is dying, but when everything dying is beautiful, there’s great room for renaissance and revolution. As I introspect about my own thoughts, ideas, and passions, I am constantly brought back to the idea of presenting my truest self to the world and those around me. New years mean new beginnings, yes, but maybe they also mean staying true and fulfilling those parts of yourself that may feel unfinished… my prophecy- 2022 “Year of The Fish”. Our first issue is a call to step outside of the media and into your own creativity. Your talents, passions, dreams, and aspirations- let those take the forefront; express yourself! With February representing love, Black history, and the start of Pisces season, we want to showcase Black creatives and embrace the fiery season of love amongst family, friends, partners, and most importantly- ourselves.
